Spam-Resistant Email Example Below

Take the Following Steps to Insert the Java Script Code:

*** Inside the first table below is the original code (you'll copy this and insert it into your HTML):  This code is property of A1Javascripts.com and must be kept in-tact to use for free....

<script language="Javascript">
<!--
//this simple script by a1javascripts.com
//please leave credit and instructions intact

//simply enter your emailname and emailserver below
//and copy and paste to entire script where you want it to show.
emailname = "webmaster"
emailserver = "javascripts.com"

//change the font face, color and size below
document.write("<font face='Arial,Helvetica' size=-1>");
document.write("<a href='mailto:" + editor + "@" + webmastercourse.com + "'>");
document.write("<font color='ff0000'>");
document.write(editor + "@" + webmastercourse.com);
document.write("</a>");
document.write("</font>");
//-->

</script>

STEP 1.  Locate the area of your web page where you would like to insert the code.

The screen shot below shows where I inserted the code for the example above into my HTML...

Code Example

STEP 2.  The green arrows show the beginning and end of my email "prompt" statement:

Email me for more information at:

This statement is simply a prompt I created which shows exactly where to insert my  java script code when viewing HTML.  You can use any statement or word you wish (as long as you know where it goes).  Where you insert the code, your email address will appear.  I wanted the email to appear after the word "at:", therefore, I inserted the code after the word "at:" and all it's settings.

STEP 3.  The red arrows show where the script begins and ends and exactly where it was inserted.  Notice the code was inserted after the </span> tag but before the <br> tag.  These tags may be different in your own HTML screen, depending on what settings you have placed on your "Prompt" statement or word as well as what comes directly after the statement.  If you're not sure where to insert the code exactly, create a practice page for starters until you feel confident inserting the code into your actual web pages.

STEP 4.  The blue arrows point to where you will insert your own email information into the code.  Where you see "editor", simply replace editor with your own email name.
Your own site server name will replace webmastercourse.com

For example, if your complete email address was myname@websiteaddress.com, then myname would replace editor (leave the quotes) and websiteaddress.com would replace webmastercourse.com  (leave the quotes).  Pretty simple, huh?

STEP 5.  Transfer your web page to the Internet using FTP as any normal page and test it out.  Your email address should appear normal and should work just as it normally would.
