After learning web design and creating my own website, I thought I knew everything I'd need to know.  However, I discovered quickly that there was more to web life than just simple site design.  I found myself visiting websites and wondering, "How did they do that?"

I would ask myself this question every time I'd mouse over a website's navigation buttons and the buttons would light up.  Each time I viewed a website with animations, I would think, "Boy, they must have spent a lot of time and money to create those images!"

Whether you're thinking of starting an online graphic design business or just planning to add graphics to your own site, designing your own graphics is a tremendous step toward reaching your goal.  You could hire some fancy graphic designer to design your graphics for you, but that's no fun.  Besides, as a website owner, you'll want to be able to create a logo that has your personal touch, graphics that flow with your site, and animations that do not cost $500.00 each!
