Hypertext Markup Language
What Exactly is Hypertext Markup Language?
What? Yes, I know – if you are a complete beginner in website design you might or might not have heard the word hypertext markup language used in a sentence. Well, before you get flustered, it is basically HTML. Does this sound better? I thought so!
What is HTML?
If you ask an IT engineer or a computer programmer you’d probable get a long, 600 word answer but I’m neither so I’ll try to answer in plain talk. Hypertext markup language is a code written specifically for the Internet. It is taught in most web design courses for beginners and is not a difficult language to understand (most likely why it’s so popular).
What Can You Do with HTML?
Once you begin to learn some code, you can make a web page from scratch in notepad using nothing more than some HTML code. You’ll be able to design areas of the pages including HTML tables in different colors, divide your site into sections, add content with bold print, heading tags and more. So, take time to learn HTML code (hypertext markup language) and the Internet world of designing is open to you!
