To start a website with a WYSIWYG ( what you see is what you get ) software program, you’ll find plenty to choose. One of the favorites, although a more expensive one, on the market today is Dreamweaver. This web design program is fairly easy to learn and does a lot of the work for you.

Getting a Domain Name

Once you have an idea of the type site you want to design and are familiar with the software system, you’ll need a domain name, or known as a URL. Your domain should be named with something as close to your website theme as possible. Be careful in choosing a URL people can easily type in their web browser and will remember.

Hosting

Another important step in how to start a website is to find a hosting company and Internet registrar. I won’t go deeply into this step but there are many find ISP companies online and many will offer to register and host your new site. If you are a beginner try to find one who will take your hand and walk you through the process.
