Another option is to hire a webmaster. This third option does take an investment but is good advice for a business owner who doesn’t have enough time to learn html from scratch or software like Dreamweaver, etc.

A Word about Free Hosting Companies Online

Although this is an avenue to consider, I would suggest limiting free hosting sites to just personal web pages. These companies sometimes put advertisements on your site and you don’t want to mar your business with all types of banners and popups from other places.

With the low cost of hosting, normally from about $10 to $20 per year, there is no need to consider putting up a free website for busines purposes.

Traffic Generation

After you design your website you’ll want to bring in people. This is especially true for business sites so traffic generation should be part of your plan. I’m not going to cover a complete process on this page as  Webmaster.Com explains lots of methods for getting visitors.

However, you will want to get your website indexed, meaning listed with the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. Also, many beginner web designers consider paid ads and banners as well. You’ll need to test and tweak what works best for you.

Make sure you have excellent content on your pages. Visitors to your site are looking for information they can use so establish yourself as an expert in your field.
