What
Does HTML Code Mean?
Basics of HTML
Design
What if you are a beginner
web designer? It doesn't matter - there are ways to
use HTML design without much experience through
designing programs like WYSIWYG software.
But, this tutorial will
explain a bit more about HTML codes and what they
are used for. In order to create an effective
website, html
design knowledge for
beginners is not
necessary but helpful. HTML stands for
hypertext markup language. This is the
language that a website is created from.
Every web page on the Internet is composed of these
codes. Everything that you see on the web
from the font size to the way an image appears is
controlled by HTML.
HTML Software and Programs
Available
A beginner of html design may
chose to use a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You
Get) program. This program will allow the
designer to create a good page with little HTML
knowledge.
This type of program
generally consists of buttons that allow a designer
to create every aspect easily including inserting
pictures and adding links. The pricing and
function of the WYSIWYG program can vary widely (
go
here for examples of program types and
prices ) but they are
generally designed with a beginner or someone who
does not want to use HTML in mind. These
programs allow a website to be created with ease in
a similar way as a document would be created with a
word processing program.
Web Designing with HTML
Code Goes Beyond Basics
Although the WYSIWYG program
can be used to create a web page and even a whole
website, in order to add more intricate features
web programming languages like HTML or PHP, you
might want to consider taking beginner
web
design courses to
learn the HTML codes are required.
What Pages do You Need for
Your Site?
The first aspect of html
design is be aware of what type of information will
be disseminated from the website and what features
are necessary, such as a guestbook. By being
aware, it not only makes the designer aware of the
appearance of the page but assists with other parts
of the HTML design such as adding links.
Linking Interior Web Pages
- The Hyperlink
Through html design, the web
pages can be linked together with a
hyperlink. A hyperlink allows the user of a
web page to click on a link (normally underlined in
blue) and be brought to another section in a page -
here is an example, Back
to Top, a
different page on that website or a completely
different website.
If the designer has plans of
creating a website composed of many pages
(sometimes hundreds), it may be helpful to outline
on paper the relation of these pages to one
another.
Designing Sites with HTML
Code
There are tools and resources
for designers of all levels to create effective
websites. If you have been reading our tips for any
length of time you know that we recommend
Shelley
Lowery's Webmastery Course for
Beginners. It covers
pretty much every step involved in HTML design
along with learning code for scripts, forms, well,
I'll let you look at all the features.
The point is, if you are a
beginner, no matter if you want to learn Internet
page code and HTML designing or you only want to do
as little as possible on the technical side, there
are plenty of options available to you. You just
need to get started and put up your first web
site!
