Finding the Best Service Providers for Free Email Accounts

Services for Opening a Free E-mail Account

Choosing a free service for your email accounts is pretty simple. The only difficult part is deciding which providers give the best service. It stands to reason that it's essential to open free email accounts. With it being so easy, why would you pay money for it? There are many services that offer these emails including Yahoo, Microsoft Mail, Gmail, and others. It also allows you to have extra email accounts, so that if spammers get hold of your personal acct. you can get a new one easily, or change the address of your email account.

It is also useful because, if you want to transact business over the Internet, it allows you to do it without people knowing certain information, such as an organization through which your other domain name is affiliated. My free email account is through Gmail, but it used to be through atdot.org while that was still alive, just because I thought the domain name was so funny and amusing.

When finding a free email account, there are several things to keep in mind. You should look for one that is easy to use, with every feature located where you would expect it, and good help documentation should you encounter any problems while using it. It is also important to see what features it includes like ....

  • Does it have a spam filter?
  • Does it have file space and if so, how much?
  • Also, do they give out your information, or store personal records that could potentially be compromised or requested.

It is best the less information they store about you, the better. Also, how many annoying pop up ads are there on the email website when you check your mail, and does your free email account include advertisements in the bottom of your emails, and if so, how annoying and obtrusive are they?

Another thing that is important is the stability of the website. Is it often down, or is it well maintained and stable? It is all good to have a free email account, but if you cant use it, what is the point anyway?

My friend had what looked to be an excellent free email account: It had 50 megs file space, few ads, easy to use features, and even a dedicated support staff. Unfortunately, their connection was lousy and they were down as often as they were up. He couldn't even get on to use his email and their features, as awesome as they were, were useless to him. Fortunately, if this happens to you, you can always get a new free email account.

Some Popular Internet Email Service Providers

Not to say it's absolutely the best, but one of the most popular free email account services is called Hotmail. Hotmail can be found at www.hotmail.com. It’s owned by the Microsoft Network. This one gives you plenty of storage and good spam protection. Hotmail allows the user to create and name folders in order to sort one’s email to keep it organized. The folders can be downloaded to the user’s computer, or stored there if the user wishes.

Another is Gmail. Gmail is owned by Google.. Gmail is nice because it organizes your email by conversation, meaning that original messages and replies are organized together, making it easy to find and track your back and forth emails. More information can be found at www.gmail.com.

Yahoo is also one of the more popular providers. They are located at www.yahoo.com. Yahoo is teamed up with SBC phone company to offer people high-speed dsl access from home. Yahoo is a good source for information, groups, and email. The company also owns geocities, which is a freebie web page hosting site. If you’re looking for a reputable account with lots of available services besides, you may want to check out Yahoo.

Free email accounts are great to have, because they allow the user to read, send and store messages on the Internet. The messages are accessible all over the world, wherever a computer with Internet access is found. You can also keep lists of email contacts on free email accounts.

These services are also a good alternative to work email. They allow the user to keep their work e mail completely work-related, and their personal acct. in a separate place that is accessible from work, home, or anywhere. Nowadays, work email is often monitored, so these alternate communication devices are a smart way to keep personal email in a separate place.

When deciding on a server, you could choose one of the services detailed in this article, or do a search online. Decide if you need lots of storage, or want lots of features available to you. This will help you choose which is best to use.

Most free email accounts have rules against spamming. DO NOT spam from these accounts, because spammers are prosecuted. If you are receiving spam from a free email account, report it right away to the administrators of the email accounts.
