Free
Content Articles
To Use - Or Not to
Use Free Online Content Articles for Your
Website
Getting good content is
essential to have a website that shows as
professional. In designing
your personal or business
site you need to make
a decision whether to use free content or paid
articles through a writer. The choice can be
crucial.
Let's face it - when you have
website content that your visitors have seen a
hundred times all over the Internet, what does that
say for your company. It's almost as bad as using
someone else's logo (don't do this either). Here
are some tips about using free online content
articles for your site.
Content for Your New
Website - Paid or Free?
If you are getting into
building web sites to make money through on of the
many advertising programs that you can find online,
you know that you have to have content to get
people to come to your sites.
Some people can write their
own, but it does take a while to get enough on the
site to draw traffic. There is a formula that a
good article follows, and this is not always
something someone understands, or can learn how to
do. There are some considerations you should think
about if you want to go out and find free content
articles for your web site.
Using other writer's
work
There are some great content
out there that you can use, but there is one huge
drawback to this. If you can find and use the
articles free of charge, so can anyone else.
Having the same content on
your website as someone else, you could be
penalized in the search engines rankings. If that
happens, you are not going to come up in a search,
and your traffic will dwindle, if you have any at
all. And remember, traffic generation is many times
tied to how (or whether) people find your web
pages. This is not always a problem, but it is
something you should consider when using free
articles.
Find content articles you
can tweak
If you choose to use free
content that you can find online, you may have to
take some time with it. You dont want to cut
and paste it as it is. Get some free articles that
you can use outright and ones that you can modify.
That means you have to
rewrite at least some of it so that it does not
come up as an exact match to something someone else
has on their site. Be careful not to mess with the
keywords when you do this.
Find other ways to reword the
writing just enough to pass a Copyscape test. Be
choosy too, as badly written articles are not the
best choice. Do not, by any means,
use any material that is not specifically labeled
as free to use for anyone, as you could be
infringing on someones copyright.
If you find that free content
articles are not what you need, or that they are
not bringing in traffic for you, you can find some
services online that offer you content that you can
not get anywhere else. There are some that
custom
write articles for you,
and some that have a huge bank of well written
content that allows you to pick and choose what you
want to put on your web site.
The price is often well worth
what you get in return in the way of traffic and
sales. Some even use a mix of both paid and free
content articles with great success. Experiment to
see what works best for you. The main thing to
remember is, your site visitor is there for good
information - if they find it, they will return to
your website - if they don't, they won't! Which do
you prefer?
