1. They purchased a product from us already.
2. They bookmark the site for later viewing. |
Obviously, if the visitor purchased your products or services, you have a tremendous opportunity to get the customer back to your site through email, special offers, product downloads, etc.
However, a visitor who has not purchased a product or service is a visitor you may never be able to contact personally. In this case, you'll want something on your Web site to remind the visitor to come back later.
1. Increases their buying potential. It's a known fact that most paying customers visit a Web site an average of seven times before buying. The more repeat visitors, the better!
2. Increases the overall traffic to your site at any given time without draining advertising dollars. You don't have to pay AGAIN to get a repeat visitor through advertising. Getting new customers will cost you, however.
3. You can build a trustworthy reputation with your visitors and increase "word-of-mouth" advertising, which is priceless.
The bookmark reminder can be in the form of a simple "bookmark" script which will allow your visitors to quickly and easily bookmark your website.
Now that we've covered those aspects of bookmark java script, let's turn to some of the other factors that need to be considered.
Someone who doesn't bookmark your site may never return unless you're a large corporation who does mega-advertising continuously.
Why? Because they will probably forget about your site within an hour of leaving, or if they remember later to visit again, they might not be able to remember your website address.
If they bookmark your site, they might visit again - even if not intentionally. I can't tell you how many times I've went looking through my bookmarks for a particular Web site, and found numerous others that I had forgotten.
Then, I visited some of those again out of curiosity. If I hadn't bookmarked those sites, I probably would have never thought about them again.
The script and brief tutorial at the link below will show you how to place a "reminder" on your web page that enables your visitors to quickly bookmark your site BEFORE they forget. :-)
